I realise I use the first-person pronoun 'I' too often. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I could replace 'I' with, or how I could write differently so as to avoid using 'I' so much?
Or maybe I'm simply a horribly selfish and vapid person. One hopes this isn't the case.

For blog posts and other informal writing, feel free to invert subject/verb and liberally use fragments. For example:
"I just booked my return Eurostar ticket and I'm scared shitless. I've been pissing around for five years and now I'm finally getting my arse into gear"
can become,
"Booked tickets yesterday. Feeling scared shitless. For five fears I've pissed around. Now it's time to get my arse in gear"
That may not be to your style-likings or feel normal. Whatever you chose to do, reducing the use of I is easier than you'd think.
Agreed! (note: not I agree)
